Open a Checking Account
KALSEE Credit Union checking accounts have no per-check service fee, monthly fee or minimum balance requirement. Record keeping is made easy because each time you write a check, you automatically make a carbonless copy for your records. All checking account activity is summarized in a monthly statement showing the amounts and dates of deposits made and individual checks cleared. We want to make sure that you are always up-to-date on all of your financial information, so you can avoid unfortunate situations, like overdrawing from an account and having a check returned. With our help, and some simple organization tools, you can keep your finances in order and working for you. Big banks may not being willing to offer you the same level of protection against the risk of overdrafts or returned checks.
If you're inclined to avoid or minimize the use of paper checks, your KALSEE checking account is still very important. We recommend using a KALSEE ATM/debit card. Once you qualify, we think you'll find the card to be the handiest and most convenient card you'll ever use. OVERDRAFT ADVANCED PROTECTION
To help you avoid the high cost of "returned check fees," qualified KALSEE checking accounts are automatically covered by Overdraft Protection, a "lower fee" based service where the credit union may cover checking transactions up to your approved limit.*
Banks can be impersonal and difficult to deal with, especially when you need to address fees or payments. KALSEE Credit Union will work with you to ensure that you are satisfied with your banking. A credit union is a more personal experience, and we are focused on protecting your money and helping it grow. We are a non-profit organization, so we will work towards helping you rather than focus on collecting fees. For more information on opening a checking account, contact a KALSEE Credit Union location near you. We have branches in Kalamazoo, Portage and Battle Creek for your convenience.
* Current Overdraft Advance Fee is $28.00. You are required to pay back the amount due within a 30 day period. Fee imposed on Checking and ACH transactions only.
